Art Nouveau
At the beginning of the 20th century, a new residential district took shape, occupied mainly by the bourgeoisie born of the boom in the iron, glass and coal industries. The latter wishes to evolve in comfort and to show its new status by having sumptuous residences built, a sign of a new success. Thus, Art Nouveau found fertile ground for its development and left its mark on the architectural environment of the city.

Art Deco
The two decades, from 1920 to 1940, were marked by an important social turning point. Society is changing; the progress of industrialization is changing work habits and generating a new way of life. Architects will work to satisfy the desires of all strata of society thanks to new techniques, such as reinforced concrete, which makes it possible to build at lower cost.
